Learnscapes
Learnscapes are places where a learning program has been
designed to permit users to interact with an environment.
Learnscapes may be natural or built, interior or exterior.
They may be in schools, near schools or beyond schools and
may relate to any one or many Key Learning Areas.

Learnscapes need to be safe and accessible. They may have
some physical features that facilitate learning and have links
with the curriculum.
The
Learnscapes ideal has been incorporated into the initial grounds
improvement plans, it is seen as being important, when planning
for alterations to the school grounds that the grounds committee
continually consult back to these initial plans.
Units of work from the 'Hands on Learnscapes Program' have
been incorporated into Key Learning Areas for all stages.
The units are linked to the English Key Learning Area because
of their strong emphasis on language content, understandings
and skills. They all include an Environmental Education perspective
and may be integrated into other key learning Areas as appropriate.
