Manly Village PS has a diverse and enthusiastic student population; a committed and capable staff, and an involved and resourceful parent community. The school is uniquely located in a commercial and tourist precinct between the harbour and the ocean. Our school is proud of its 150 year history. School facilities are extensively used by the community. The school's mission is "to seek to provide each student with a high quality, balanced, stimulating and challenging program in a secure and caring environment." Literacy, Numeracy and 21st Century Fluencies are priority areas. We are always looking at ways to improve our programs, which is why we say, "It's onward and upward at Manly Village."
I am very proud to be the principal of this wonderful school.
I began my role as principal in July 2015 and in my very first weeks felt the strong pride of the school from the teachers, students and the parent community and how everyone joins together to make it such a great place.
Manly Village Public School's leaders, staff and families are strong advocates of the adage ‘It takes a village to raise a child' and the children at this school feel a strong sense of belonging, are able to just ‘be' themselves and are encouraged and supported to become the best that they can possibly be in everything they do.
Situated in the centre of the village of Manly and nestled between the ocean and the harbour, the school is seen as a warm and welcoming hub for our families who chose to live in Manly.
The school is committed to the provision of quality educational opportunities for every child, with a focus on high expectations and a shared responsibility for every student to reach their maximum potential.
In addition to the rich curriculum on offer, our students are provided with wonderful opportunities such as school leadership, a wide choice of both winter and summer sports, student representative council, debating and performing arts which includes bands, choirs, visual arts, drama and dance.
Our students are well supported to be self motivated, confident and creative individuals with the personal resources for future success and wellbeing.
